Hi, I'm Jane.

Founder of The Midlife Movement—and yes, I’m smack in the middle of this wild, wonderful, often WTF season called midlife too.

Certified coach, midlife woman, and your new favourite hype girl.

My story...

Like many women, I hit my 40s feeling blindsided.

Suddenly, everything felt… off. I was exhausted, foggy, aching in places I didn’t know could ache, and gaining weight despite doing all the things that used to work. I was told it was just 'getting older'—but that didn’t sit right with me. So I started asking questions. And I asked some more...

The midlife plot twist nobody gave us the heads up about...

The Problem

For too long, women in midlife have been sidelined when it comes to health and fitness. As women reach their 40s and beyond, they often begin experiencing a range of symptoms tied to perimenopause and menopause. Yet, many are left with little to no understanding of what’s happening to their bodies, or worse, are dismissed by both medical professionals and the fitness industry.

The hormonal changes during this life stage can bring about a number of physical and emotional challenges—fatigue, weight gain, hot flushes, brain fog, sleep disturbances, joint pain, mood swings, and more. These symptoms can make women feel disconnected from their own bodies, often leading to frustration, confusion, and a sense of isolation. In some cases, symptoms can lead to depression.

Despite being a universal experience for women, menopause is still largely stigmatised and misunderstood. The fitness industry, in particular, continues to cater mostly to younger women, focusing on aesthetics over health, and using fitness routines and diets that don’t account for the unique needs of midlife women. Women in this demographic are often told to 'work harder' or 'just push through' when, in reality, the approach to fitness and wellness needs to be tailored to the changes they are experiencing.

Many women feel as though they are losing control over their bodies. The message they often receive is that aging means inevitable decline—more weight gain, more pain, more fatigue. But this narrative is outdated, and it’s time for a shift. Midlife doesn’t have to be a phase of suffering—it can be a time of strength, growth, and transformation.

Unfortunately, there is still a lack of resources and support specifically designed for women 40+. Mainstream fitness and wellness programs often fail to address the hormonal, metabolic, and emotional changes that come with aging. And even when programs attempt to cater to this demographic, they often lack understanding, compassion, and real-world solutions.

It’s time to change this.

The Solution

I created The Midlife Movement because I am the woman it’s for.

I’ve felt the brain fog roll in mid-sentence. I’ve stared at the ceiling at 3am, wondering why sleep has suddenly abandoned me. I’ve dealt with the mood swings, the weight gain that doesn’t respond to old tricks, the aching joints, the sense of losing control over a body I thought I knew. And like so many of us, I initially thought I just had to tough it out.

But the truth is—we don’t have to suffer through midlife alone, confused, and exhausted.

Through my own journey, I dug deep into the research, sought out expert guidance, became certified in midlife fitness and health, and most importantly—I started applying it all in my own daily life. And things began to shift. Slowly, then powerfully.

That’s why I created The Midlife Movement. Not as some cookie-cutter wellness program, but as a place where women like us can get real support, real strategies, and feel truly seen.

Through hours (and hours!) of research, education, training, and lived experience, I’ve learned that midlife isn’t a problem to be fixed, we're not faulty or broken—it’s a transition to be understood and supported. I became certified in fitness, nutrition and midlife wellness, and more importantly, I applied it all to my own life. What I discovered changed everything for me.

Now, I help other women do the same.

The Midlife Movement isn’t about shrinking ourselves—it's about expanding into our power. It's where we lift each other up (and some heavy sh!t), learn what actually works for our changing bodies, and start showing up for ourselves like never before.

I’m not here to preach perfection or push a one-size-fits-all approach. Let's get real here. I’m here to walk with you—offering real talk, real tools, and a little sass to make this midlife journey a whole lot less lonely (and a whole lot more fun).

This is your time. This is my time. Let’s make it powerful, together.

I’ve built this to be a compassionate space where you can:

  • Rebuild your strength (physically and emotionally)

  • Make peace with your changing body

  • Learn what actually works (based on science, not fads)

  • And connect with other women who get it—because they’re living it too

I know what it feels like to wonder if this is just the way it has to be now. But I promise you—it’s not. Midlife isn’t the beginning of the end. It’s the start of a new, more powerful chapter.

You deserve support that truly understands you.

I’m here to offer that—with heart, honesty, and a whole lot of humour.

Welcome to The Midlife Movement.

can you relate?

Some fun facts about me...

  • I didn’t touch a dumbbell until I was 43—and now I lift heavy things and heavy moods (mine and yours).
  • My fave 'little person' is my dog Shadow. He is a schnoospoo (that’s schnauzer + cocker spaniel + poodle) and his bed hair is more unhinged than mine.
  • I’ve never eaten McDonald’s—not out of snobbery, I just somehow skipped the drive-thru life. (But don’t worry, I’m still very into snacks, especially chocolate.)
